Spookiness meets industrial history in this one-of-a-kind (OOAK) handmade Halloween mixed-media assemblage! Built entirely inside an authentic, vintage "Petite Lacquer Thinner" metal can, this detailed diorama is a treasure trove of antique elements, altered textures, and eerie Victorian charm.
The Details: The center stage of this artwork features a wonderful old Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco tin overflowing with Halloween magic. Nestled inside and around the tin, you will find an altered vintage owl toy, old game pieces (including vintage Bingo markers and classic black-and-white dominoes), and sparkling upcycled glitter embellishments.
To the left, a detailed miniature birdcage has been artfully altered and adorned with delicate Victorian scrap bats. The entire interior of the industrial can is lined with hand-altered papers featuring classic Halloween stripes and polka dots, framed perfectly at the top by a scalloped paper "valance" and old-fashioned ball fringe.
The Finishing Touches: The top of the can is crowned with a spectacular, over-sized, coffee stained black-and-white gingham bow, layered with tulle, twine, and a brilliant metallic orange disco-ball ornament. Turn the piece around, to appreciate the original mid-century typography and warning labels of the vintage paint thinner can, left intact to celebrate its industrial past.
